The Internet wouldn’t be the Internet if sites didn’t link to each other. So does that mean you should link your Spotify to your Facebook, your Instagram to your Twitter or your LinkedIn to your Tumblr? No. No. No.

Your friends already fully know you love Fall Out Boy (“But only their early stuff before they sold out!”). No one needs to get a heads up that you’re listening to it. Again. And again.

Also, linking accounts SEEMS like something you should do. It seems like a timesaver. But it means you’ll end up posting the exact same content to different sites, which just feels lazy.

Have some respect for the people that follow you (there’s likely overlap) and tailor your message to fit each site. You know, like saving the photos of your cat dressed up as a frog for Facebook, and your funny quips about diaper blowouts for Twitter.

Like this post? Share it with your friends. (Just not on Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter at the same time.)
