As I ask myself about my top three go-to-websites, I admit that I really had a hard time because it’s on Facebook, Twitter and especially Google where I find almost everything, but sadly those three should be excluded from my choices. So what I did was, I checked my browsing history to find which sites I visit frequently and here are what I have discovered.

For my news go-to-website, it would be The Manila Times ( At first, I visit this website because it’s a requirement in one of my major classes and I don’t want to spend money just to read every front page of their newspaper. But as time goes by, I realized that I go to this site voluntarily twice or quadruple, at max, a week. Maybe you’re thinking that I should have not considered this as my “news go-to-website” since I don’t even check it on a daily basis, but mind you guys, I bookmark the digital edition of their newspaper for a week.

To be honest, I’m not a fan of reading news because I grew up in an environment where people get news on television, broadcast by different networks like GMA and ABS-CBN. But I think what makes me check The Manila Times website is their reliable content and very accessible interface. Although its language is formal which most people find boring, I think it’s quite good because I know that the information comes from reliable sources and writers provide reliable content. Also, for those people who don’t have the time to check the news on a daily basis, this website is for you, for they provide digital edition of their newspaper.

Next, for my entertainment go-to -website, it would be Kiss Asian ( It’s a website where you can watch or download dramas from different countries in Asia for free. I go to this website twice or thrice a month and spend almost 8–15 hours, depending on my internet speed, just to download a full Korean drama using my laptop. I basically choose this site because I find it user-friendly. Although it has lots of advertisements which sometimes I find distracting, I still like it because I can easily look for a specific drama for I’m given the option to which country and what genre of drama to watch or download. It also provides me a list of dramas which are arranged alphabetically. Moreover, it gives its user the latest updates and the option to request for drama.

As a KDrama fan who wants to influence other people to watch Korean drama, I have recommended this to some of my friends and relatives as well. I also want them to experience the enjoyment that I feel whenever I go to this site.

Last, for my research go-to-website, it would be Encyclopedia Britannica ( To be honest, choosing my favorite website for research was the hardest one because I rely on Google. I can’t even recall how often I visit this site but one thing is for sure, whenever I search on google, I prioritize articles from Britannica. What I like about this site is that it is easy to use because it provides its users categories to search on like astronomy, chemistry, history, physics and so on. It also features trending articles and lists containing good headlines which I find really interesting and appealing. For example, 5 Things People See in the Moon, 9 of the World’s Deadliest Spider and so on. If you see those headlines, I know you would have the same reaction as Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc) on Friends.

Moreover, this website makes learning a bit fun because it gives quizzes for users to try. I remembered myself taking a quiz on this site and failing it. Instead of getting embarrassed, I felt glad because right after the quiz, the correct answers were revealed meaning I learned new things.

In a nutshell, my go-to-websites are The Manila Times for news, Kiss Asian for entertainment and Encyclopedia Britannica for research. The Manila Times informs me about the recent happenings; Kiss Asian keeps me entertained; Encyclopedia Britannica challenges what I know about the world and provides new information.

So what are you waiting for? Check out my go-to-websites to be informed and entertained.
