FB LIVE: A WAY TO ENJOY AND TO CONNECT
To be honest, I never see my self doing Facebook live or any live streaming may be because I'm not really the cool/fame type of person who have the courage to do this kind of activity. I even hate speaking in front of the crowd which is very ironic because I'm taking up Communication Arts. But still, I tried my best to pull off the Facebook Live task for my Publish class and I admit that I and my friends, had fun in doing the activity.

In my Facebook Live, I interviewed my high school best friends namely : Alyssa Napoles, Paulina Vilela and Patricia De Guzman. Instead of doing a formal interview which I think would be boring, what I did was, I made two segments: a dynamite challenge/interview and a fast talk. So before the challenge, I asked each one of them five (5) facts about their personality, their favorites and so on which we should know about each other since we’re best friends. The challenge was that they needed to eat a "dynamite" (not a real dynamite but a green chili pepper with cheese wrapped in lumpiang shanghai wrapper) first, before I read the question. After I read the question, they wrote their answers on a bond paper. Then, they could only drink water if they were able to answer the questions correctly. Moreover, the fast stalk was composed of random questions and sometimes two options where they need to choose one they prefer the most.
Although we’ve encountered difficulties like slow internet, wrong camera orientation and so on, I and my friends enjoyed doing the activity. I didn’t expect that doing Facebook Live would be this fun. I know at first, it seems that I’m not comfortable with what I’m doing, but eventually when I got the hang of it, everything went smoothly and normal. I just felt happy when I saw my friends, former classmates and even relatives watching, reacting and giving their comments. Somehow I feel like I made a connection to them and I hope that they enjoyed watching as much as we enjoyed the activity. Also, I‘m thankful to Facebook Live because it’s the reason why we reunited and we had the time to bond together since we haven’t seen each other for a couple of months.
Thus, I can say that doing Facebook live or live streaming in general is a fun activity where people can connect and share to large number of viewers the recent events which can be formal like news or simply about random things. Unfortunately, people nowadays don’t only use Facebook Live to have fun. We know there are cases where some did suicide live on Facebook. In this case, as users we should be mindful of what content we want to share and who our viewers are because it’s in public and everyone can watch and share it. Whatever happens there, stays in public.
