During the last six years I have been lucky enough to visit more than twenty countries and over a hundred cities around the world. Here are a few places I highly recommend when traveling in Europe.

Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland

Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland

This tiny town in the Swiss Alps feels like something out of a movie. From the hotel balconies you’ll have a clear view of waterfalls and the surrounding alps. There is something so pure about the scenery here that it almost feels magical.

Grimmewald on the hike down from Murren into Lauterbrunnen

From the valley floor in Lauterbrunnen, take the gondola up to the town of Murren. Once you arrive in Murren you can take another gondola to the top of the Shilthorn summit (10,000 feet above sea level).

When you’re ready to come back, you can hike down from Murren (passing though Grimmelwald) and eventually make your way back to Lauterbrunnen. This hike is amazing.

Brugge, Belgium

Brugge, Belgium

The city of Brugge is breathtaking and incredibly charming. A small channel surrounds this quaint city and snakes it’s way through the town. Brugge is known for it’s incredible trappist beers and 500 year old breweries. Join the De Halve Maan (Straffe Hendrik) Brewery tour and travel through over 500 years of brewing history, there’s a free beer at the end!

If beer isn’t your thing, try the hand crafted chocolates, belgium fries, and belgium waffles!

Chocolate is an art in Brugge

Brugge is a charming city filled with great things to eat and drink. Staying here is great way to relax and break up your vacation if you’re traveling to other cities in Europe.

Oberwesal, Germany

The view from Schönburg castle

Oberwesal is another city with beautiful views and a charming small town feel. Looking down upon this tiny town is the thousand year old Schönburg castle. The Schönburg castle has been converted to a hotel making it easy to experience a royal evening if you’re willing to cough up a little money.

A Robber Baron castle located conveniently in the middle of the Rhine River.

Rent a bicycle from the local shop and cruise along the Rhine River. There is over twenty miles of well paved paths along the river that offer incredible views of the Robber Baron castles.

Enjoy your travels!
