Ask Darya: Why aren’t more blogs doing this?
Charge for advice, it’s what people want!
Recently I stumbled upon Summer Tomato, a health blog curated by Darya Rose and noticed that while she doesn’t provide her email address (for good reason) she does encourage people to ask her questions though the interesting part is that for any requests that require extensive research a one-time charge of $12.99 is required, something I don’t see other blogs doing, why is that?
She like many popular bloggers get dozens even hundreds of emails a day and because there is only so little time most take weeks to get a response, some never, charging seems like the likeliest way to get around this and while she gives it to charity, the fact is people will pay if they value your time and honestly don’t mind where the money goes as long as we can get a response, it’s that simple!
Kudos @summertomato on implementing this system and offering your customers a better way to contact you, let this be an example to all bloggers.
huge congrats to my amazing wife @summertomato and the launch of her book, “Foodist”, available today!! amazon.com/Foodist-Scienc…

In case you’re wondering, Darya is married to Kevin Rose, but I choose to see her for own accomplishments, so if you’re health conscious (kinda like me depending on the season) then check out her book; Foodist: Using Real Food and Real Science to Lose Weight Without Dieting.
