Instead, I’m suggesting a few events in town during San Diego Beer Week (Nov 1 — Nov 10) that only require you to show up and celebrate some rare casks and pours. Don’t forget that some of these are first come, first served. Plan accordingly! Don’t be that guy trying to order something on cask @ 11p.

NO BRO, THERE’S ONLY ONE CASK.

1. Keep the Pint Nights.
There was only one spot listed as a Keep the Pint Night a few weeks ago, Intergalactic Brewing Co in Mira Mesa, now there’s multiple bars and breweries. Good look, SD. Notable spots to hit up for KTP: URGE Gastropub, Hamilton’s Tavern, True North, Ciro’s Pizzeria and Brewhouse, Notorious Burgers.

2. Peanut Butter Cup Porter Watch.
Last year Karl Strauss knocked it out of the park with their special SDBW release, Peanut Butter Cup Porter, brewed with cocoa nibs, peanut powder, and dark chocolate malt. This year they’re bringing it back at all their SD locations (including tasting room). Word on the street is Monkey Paw Brewing out in EV will be carrying it on cask Monday night plus there’s hella spots around town if you can’t make it.

PB CUP PORTER?! WUT?!

3. Beer Floats at Sublime Ale House
Saturday 11/2, they got some cool shit in the North County at Sublime with a NorCal vs SoCal showdown. If you already enjoy beer floats they will expand your horizons past dark beer and vanilla ice cream. Personally, looking forward to a Old Rasputin with Cherry Garcia, but that Blue Star Wheat and lemon sorbet sure is something to lose sleep over.

Not Cherry Garcia but it’ll work for the visual.

4. Victory at San Diego
Victory at Sea is back in full force. Ballast Point’s flagship porter makes its way around San Diego. At Hamilton’s Tavern in North Park they have tasters of different varieties of Victory at Sea. A few that you will spark your taste buds like rum barrel aged, mole, and a vintage 2012 version too. If you can’t make it down they got Churchill’s Pub and Grille in San Marcos holding down North County.

V-SD DAY!

5. Burgers and Beer
Slater’s 50/50 at Liberty Station has some really diverse events onsite besides its appearance at the Guild Festival. Read: $$$. If there is absolutely nothing your flavor there, they have one of the extensive taplists in San Diego. I just know more Lagunitas Cappacuino Stout for me.

Burger + Beer = No Wrong
