The one way to quit smoking
About one billion people on this planet smoke. Most of them know how unhealthy it is. Most of them won’t hesitate to whine about how the know how unhealthy it is, but how hard it is to quit. Well, here comes the solution.
If you are asmoker and enjoying it: Fine. Close this article right here and stop wasting your time, you may not have too much of it left. If you are a smoker and want to quit: Here is how you do it.
Chances are high that you have read about a lot of programs to quit smoking and you may have tried several methods as well. I know that all of these methods promise to be working, but this one really is. I tried it myself. I smoked for about five years and in the end, I would usually smoke about one packet a day. I quit on the first attempt. That was 4 years ago.
Of course there are some requirements you have to fulfill. You really need to want to stop smoking. No “Yeah, it may be cool to have some more money and stuff”. “I do not want to smoke anymore” is the kind of thought we need here. And you have to start right now, in this very moment. No last cigarette. You remember this cigarette you smoked 15 minutes ago? That was your last. No “I’ll just smoke this packet, it would be a waste of money to throw it away”. How much packets have you bought before this last one? 50? 100? 500? It’s not like half a packet would matter. Throw it away, right now.
I’m serious. Get up from you Laptop and throw it away.
Okay, now you’re set up and we can start quitting. It is a really simple procedure, but as I mentioned, it works perfectly fine. Just follow these steps:
Come on, it’s really not that hard. Just do not do it anymore, from now on until the day you die. It’s not like you could smoke by accident or something. Smoking is a process: You get a package, you pull out a cigarette, you light it and smoke it. It really takes just a little bit of self-control to not do this. See it as a challenge to yourself. If you are going to smoke now, you are weak. You don’t want this, do you?
Here’s some more motivation: If you succeed whit this, you’ll have a pretty satisfying conversation if someone offers you a cigarette and you decline it because you quit. “Oh really? How did you do it?” - “Oh, I just did not smoke from day to day”.
Additionally, you get very self-confident about your self-control. Quitting smoking gave me such a boost that it was almost easy to stop eating meat for some time or to stop being an untidy person. I just did not do it anymore. Simple as that.
