The Passion / Money Dilemma

Because having both of them are against the law of the universe and those who seized it, are considered a god among men. Okay that’s too much.

We all got this little passion of ours and by time, it starts to take place in some important things, until we developed our pet peeves in this matter. Then you will realize that you can spend a lifetime doing this thing.

And here, this little gap, is the very first moment that this dilemma introduced itself to you.

To those who still did not understand this dilemma, let me enlighten you guys with my poorly drawn/lined-maybe-incomplete bar chart. Feel free to add the details to spice things up.

Think you’re screwed? Think again.

So this happens when you pursue your passion. Let’s face it, you can’t make much money if your passion do not have the commercial value, or the proper crowd. No doubt you WILL make money but not much, just enough to cover the bare necessities. This is just a rough sketch, of course you can work some things up to cover your needs. We all human and we all are a genius, at a certain point of our life, if not occasionally. Give it a try and who knows, you might ended up with the last scenario.

p.s Please don’t skip to the last. I beg you.

And here’s another scenario that might get you a bit jumpy, but it’s boring. You’ve been warned.

So now you have plenty of money. I guess you’re satisfied with your life, hmm?

Don’t get me wrong. It happened to all of us if not once in our life. We have a steady job, we have house to live in, a car to take us around.

What we gain in financial stability, we lost a bit of our passion and our time.

Yet we still longing to do something that we love, we wanted to pursue our passion and live by it, die by it. Whether it is to travel, or to make photos and/or videos, to write something nice, to draw something beautiful, to run the distance, to meet interesting people, to create a big collage, to cycle the continent, to cook delicious foods, to brew the spiciest chai etc.

There are so many things that we wanted to do, and that thing consumes time, yet we spend most of our precious time we don’t have doing the job we hate the most, sitting on a chair, giving fake smiles to our boss, phoning annoying, ungrateful turds who eventually need some an expensive loan to cover his/her unnecessary expenses, suck up a complaint or an outburst from a customer.

That is how delightful our life is.

But again, of course you can make some ends meet to your liking. It’s your life and it is all up to you. I’m here to share and if you’ve found a solution after reading this post, that’s a bonus and sincerely, I’m happy for you.

But wait, there’s more.

This is rare and exceptional. If your life is already like this, you’re one lucky bastard.

This is what we all want. This is what I wanted.

I’m here to share, so feel free to share stories with me. I would love to learn new things, see things from a different perspective, etc.

I’ve run out of ideas about this matter. So goodbye for now and don’t forget, keep rocking and godspeed!
