Too cool to tweet

Why non-conformity is harmful. . . to yourself

I recently approached a well-known singer/songwriter about his Social Media accounts. Combined, he has well over 1M followers. 1 Million. And yet, he hasn’t posted anything since June. JUNE.

His manager said that it was because he didn’t want to conform, and didn’t want anyone managing his accounts except him.

Ok, I get the managing of accounts, and we all know how annoying that can get. But you don’t want to conform? That’s crap. Here’s what not conforming means:

  1. You don’t care about your fans
  2. You don’t care about making money

While I understand it may not be “all about the benjamins” for this guy, there’s no excuse for not caring about your fans.

Just because you’re an “artist” doesn’t mean you shouldn’t care about the people who love your art.

Don’t be too cool to tweet.
