Why there are less enterprises in India?

For a country with the largest population we surely have less number of innovative companies compared to USA.

My guess is its due to the way we are raised. Most Indians living in India, live a protective life. Very few do any part time job while in college. In fact most start working after they complete their graduation.

Skilled kids from rich families who have more resources at their disposal have more opportunities to start their own companies however due to the way business families in India are, the kids mostly go into the family business. I understand this happens everywhere and not just in India, however kids here are so comfortable living under their parents protection that they only focus on their education after which their focus changing on finding a job or doing further studies outside of India.
