I’m writing a book: DAY 2/37

So if you didn’t already know, I’m writing a book. I go into detail about that here.

Today is day 2/37 of me writing my book. The first seven days of writing are going to be research. This involves ensuring the content I choose to write about is consistent enough with my theme and also that I know enough about the topic.

It’s currently 6.30am and I’m going to begin my research and will spend 2 hours on it.

What I did?

The first of working on my book I spent doing things like writing my to-do list, scheduling when I should work, sorting out deadlines and creating myself a list of tools that would help me write the book. The first day was a day for logistics.

Today was the first day of researching. I’ve read a great deal today and I’m pleased with my chosen topic, but i’m keen to read even more to ensure the book I write is the best, most concise and actionable book there is on the topic.

Would I do anything differently tomorrow?

I enjoyed waking up early to research as it meant I still had the rest of the day to do my other work. As the research stage is arguably most important in my opinion, I think for the rest of the research days I will wake up at 6.00am, rather than 6.30am and work for 2.5 hours.

Have any of you ever tried to write a book in a month? What have been your experiences?
