The 1 and Four 7’s Number Puzzle
Since the last number puzzle was enjoyed so much, I thought I’d pose another to give you a second opportunity to conquer one. This puzzle is similar in concept to the last one (except parentheses are allowed this time), so give it a shot!
1 and Four 7’s Number Puzzle
Use the numbers 7, 7, 7, 7 and 1 to create an expression that equals 100.
For this exercise you may use addition, subtraction, multiplication and division operators along with parentheses.
Rules:
- You must treat each number as a complete number. (e.g. you can’t take 7 and 7 and put them next to each other to make “77”.)
- You may use the arithmetic operations and parentheses as many times as you’d like in your expression. You do not have to use all of them.
- You may not use exponents, any other numbers or mathematical operations.
- Your answer must have exactly four 7’s and one 1.
- You must adhere to the rules of mathematics.
Good Luck!
