January was an insane month. Here is the month in a few:

User Growth

• 29 people from Zillow
• 11 people from HotPads
• 15 people from Trulia
• 10 people from Craigslist email
• 78 from Google Voice number, Facebook, and random outreach to me
• 143 new faces this month (58 last month)

Lessons Learned

• Private bedroom vs having roommates is a BIG DEAL
• Students want to be within walking distance of campus
• ~ 30% of people contacting us are not students
• Spreadsheets aren’t cutting it
• We need a website!
• If you’re going to have customer support, you need to do it well
• It’s a long road

Development

• 70% done with Thinkful Front-end course
• 70% done with Thinkful Ruby on Rails course
• Finished Pragmatic Studio courses for Ruby and Ruby on Rails
• 4 Thinkful projects

Personal

• Had to let go of two co-founders (details coming in the future)
• Read David and Goliath, The Checklist Manifesto, The Founder’s Dilemmas
• Starting to pick up this growth hacking thing (early days)
• Shaved one time ☺

What’s Next
