IAM Weekend 19: new ticket types and ways to support independent events

Did you know that IAM Weekend is an ad-free, non-profit and independent event funded mostly by ticket sales? Here is how we plan to make it work

Running this kind of annual event without commercial sponsors or public funding is hard, but we value our independence and with your support we can make it happen. 💪💙💪

Today we are releasing a new set of Patron tickets and Supporter packs to create a Diversity and Inclusion fund and also subsidise batches of reduced price tickets for SMEs, freelance, students and unemployed.

What is a Diversity and Inclusion fund?

Inspired by this initiative launched by Internet Freedom Festival, this edition we are looking for organisations and individuals aiming to support the event by contributing to a fund which aims to cover ticket and travel costs for participants coming from: Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe, MENA, South Asia and Southeast Asia, regions which are usually absent in this type of events.

In exchange for their generous support, contributors will be featured on the website and communication of the event, and will be celebrated in the main stage during the opening ceremony of IAM Weekend 19.

With your contribution we will enable more opportunities for underrepresented perspectives to participate in the event and connect to a wider conversation on how to design and imagine alternative pluralistic futures of and for the planet using the internet.
