Our guests, Adrian Iftene, Associate Professor and Dean at the Faculty of Computer Science Iași, “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University, Iulian Ciocoiu, Professor and Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology at the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași, Alexandru Burlacu MD, PhD, FESC, Lecturer at University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Grigore T. Popa” Iași and Gabriel Marchidan, core member of IAȘI AI community and involved in several projects on AI and education described some of the initiatives and reiterated the importance of research from a young age, as a student.

In the same time, in Bucharest, the Romanian Association for Smart City held their 4th edition of Smart City Industry Awards where IAȘI AI won the Smart Citizen — Civic Engagement category with Iași Smart City, a community initiative developed in partnership with Iași City Hall, launched in March 2019.

The award is highly important, as it symbolizes the voluntary involvement and collaboration between citizens and authorities having a common goal, building a better city for themselves and for their children.

At the end of the day, it’s not about the tallest building or the smartest sensor, it’s all about having a human-centric approach, having a smart community that empowers residents to prosper physically, spiritually, and economically.
