From innovative startup pitches competing for LIVE for investment, to thought-provoking conversations between eminent speakers from governments, corporates and startups from around the world, Starfleet India is a one of a kind event that you wouldn’t want to miss.

AE Ventures and IBC Media organized India’s first Blockchain Startup Accelerator and after scrutinous shortlisting from the initial applicants, 13 were selected for Genesis Week — a boot camp of intensive training and mentorship. After an internal selection day and a month of remote acceleration, seven of the most innovative blockchain startups in India have made it to the final Demo Day where they will pitch for investments LIVE.

In addition to these pitches, Starfleet India also has in store a brilliant line-up of speakers who will engage in intriguing panel discussions and deliver keynote addresses.

Introducing the Speakers

Innovation always requires enablement in some form to make it available for wide-spread use and Starfleet India was organized with the goal of supporting startups in the Indian ecosystem that are solving real-world problems with blockchain technology. Demo day kicks off with keynote addresses by the minds that made it all happen.

Nikola Stojanov — CEO, AE Ventures

As someone that recognizes the tremendous potential of blockchain technology, Nikola works tirelessly to further the development of the Starfleet Global Accelerator Program and hopes to have as many great and innovative applications built on the aeternity blockchain as possible. With a background in the pharmaceutical industry, he has worked in cities across Europe and even Hong Kong. In his current role at aeternity, he is in charge of business development and partnerships.

Raghu Mohan — CEO, IBC Media

Raghu has an affinity for innovation and technology in the booming startup culture and having built expertise as a marketer with some notable brands in the tech industry, he has an invaluable store of wisdom in these matters. Raghu was part of the early teams at leading startups like HackerEarth and YourStory before leading IBC Media to enable innovation in India by solving enterprise and industry level problem statements with the help of problem solvers in the Indian startup ecosystem.

At Demo Day, our last keynote speaker is someone who has devoted their attention to giving the right kind of exposure to India’s budding startups:

Shradha Sharma — Chief Editor & Founder, YourStory

Before establishing YourStory, one of India’s most popular startup news sites, Shradha had built an acumen on media organizations during her time as an assistant VP a CNBC, and as a brand advisor at the Times of India. Her penchant for storytelling aided her in her quest to give exposure to innovative startups in the Indian ecosystem solving real-world problems.

With the Seven finalists of Starfleet India pitching for investments, what better way to kick off Demo Day than to hear from who has managed several IPOs on NYSE and NASDAQ, and is currently responsible for financial risk at one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges.

Wei Zhou — CFO, Binance

Zhou is a fine example of managers from the traditional financial system who decide to move to the crypto and blockchain world. As an experienced capital markets specialist, Zhou brings over 15 years of executive experience of leading technology, internet and media companies where he built up particular acumen in financial management and accounting, capital markets and investments.

Jason Eisen — CEO & Co-Founder, UTU

Jason is a serial entrepreneur and is known for founding MARAMOJA Transport, Africa’s first ride-hailing app and is a strong believer in the power of trust to ease friction in the modern digital economy, In 2018 he launched UTU a vibrant community space for AI and Blockchain projects in Nairobi, Kenya. Rajesh Dhuddu -Global Practice Leader, Tech Mahindra
