The Stage fright — I love the thrill, but…
Do you know this nervousness before a test?
Well, this is precisely how I’ve been feeling these last few days. Today I have to pass the university's language test. According to the European Language Certificate scheme, C1 corresponds to academic, and C2 to native speaker level.
I was studying English up to the Intermediate Diploma (2 years) plus two main seminars decades ago. I used to work as a technical translator and interpreter. I’m a writer. But when did I last look into a grammar book?
English is so natural for me, and that’s the problem.
The risk for me is to be too quick, to overread some details.
On the other hand, I love the pressure of being tested. There’s nothing so exciting than giving it all.
Stage fright. I feel the same as before a concert or before the start of a marathon.
