About our client — Society for Services to Volunteer Agencies (SOSVA)

Our client is designated as a “mother” NGO by the Government of Punjab and the Government of India. SOSVA promotes and strengthens the voluntary movement by bringing field NGOs and State Government into an active and mutually beneficial relationship. To this end, SOSVA provides to the Government assured access to reliable field NGOs and a mechanism for mentoring and monitoring of their performance. Around 120 NGOs are currently working for SOSVA.

SOSVA receives funding from State Government under the scheme for assistance to NGOs. It identifies credible NGOs in a transparent manner after evaluating their credentials and recommends them for assistance to the Sanctioning Committee. The performance of NGOs during implementation is monitored regularly and review meetings are held to guide the NGO heads.
