The Big Day is here !

Finally the big opening ceremony. We were all dressed in our best suits and nervous by the morning, thinking about how we should behave and what we should discuss in our first meeting with the host organization.

At around 9am a van came to the hotel to pick us up to IBM Thailand office.

We arrived early at IBM and just had to wait for the representatives of the host orgs before the ceremony would start.

The Ceremony

The representatives of host organizations arrived and the ceremony started. We where around 50 people including IBMers and the 3 host organizations.

After some introduction and formalities we had an amazing speech from IBM Thailand General Manager, Parnsiree Amatayakul. She talked about the importance of Thailand 4.0 project, an strategic national government plan to transform Thailand into a digital society.

After that we took some formal pictures and went to a separate room for meeting with our host organization for the first time.

Each one of the 3 host orgs did an introduction about what are their goals and expectations for the project.

After that it was our turn to introduce ourselves to them.

An then, lunch time with some new Thai (spicy) flavors.

After lunch we had a few ours to actually review the project goals and set some expectation. We were able to get a much clearer after a few hours of scope review.

And as a last requitement, a person. From IBM security came to present an ovierview of the security procedures we should make while staying in Thailand.

And finally we came back to our hotel for a well deserved rest.

It was a very intense day, but also a very good and effective first step.

I’m glad it all went well without any issue and (so far) we see only smiles.
