When we set out to build Journey Designer, there was always one process that we sought to improve — the marketing strategy white-boarding session.

We have all been through it: you herd all of your team leads together, file into a cramped conference room, spend a day or two drawing boxes and arrows on a white board, someone takes a picture of it with their phone, and emails it to the various channel managers who then have to translate your brilliant .jpeg file into a meaningful customer experience.

We all know the problems with this:

  • Herding team leaders is a lot like herding cats with endless scheduling conflicts
  • Not everyone works in the same location, so there is always the lesser-heard team represented on the conference bridge
  • Everyone hates each other by the end of the session which seems to last forever in that cramped room
  • The poor channel managers have to translate executive jargon into real customer engagements with only an out of focus photo of a white-board to work with
  • That single photo of the white-board is a dead file — this master strategy can never be changed or even slightly adjusted

But what if we could make it better?

That has always been our mission with Journey Designer. We are obsessed with finding ways to make marketing easier.

In May, we wanted that 4th point with automation and integration. We wanted to make that white-board a connected piece of your execution. As you build customer journeys in the design canvas, you’ll find the ability to drill down and create email, mobile, or even multi-channel campaign programs right from the UI.

Here’s what’s new:

  • Integration: IBM Marketing Cloud Programs
  • Integration: IBM Marketing Cloud Mobile App Messaging
  • Integration: IBM Marketing Cloud SMS
  • Font Colors

We hope you like changes, and we’re looking forward to your feedback!
