As iCasting, we are a supportive platform that can help talents and clients find each other, but also interact with each other. We have created a new marketplace for motivated amateur and semi-professional talents and for all the clients who are waiting for their talent(s). But, how does this casting process work? And what does a day at a iCasting job look like?

As a talent or client, you can register for free at our iCasting platform. It is available on both desktop and mobile devices. Anyone can register; there are no restrictions on experience, age, appearance, gender or ethnicity.

The twelve different categories at iCasting

The registration process at iCasting

When the talent has registered at iCasting, he or she is able to create a profile. They are able to choose between twelve different categories which are pictured before. The talent can decide what information they would like to add to their profile. This can be very specific: from their hair colour, accents, tattoos, known languages, piercings, to special skills, driving licenses and certificates. However, talents and clients are required to fill in some fields, such as their appearance to make sure their profile will be active. The talent is also able to add portfolio materials such as videos, working experience, education or audio files. The more complete their profile, the better they can be matched to different iCasting jobs.

The talent is always in control.

Everyone who is looking for a talent is able to register for free at iCasting. Let it be a client, an individual, a company or a brand. Clients also have full control of their accounts. They are able to place detailed search inquiries to find the most suitable talent for their needs. Adding a job is also completely free of charge.

When the client has registered at iCasting, they are able to fill in their data and upload detailed and necessary requirements for the talents. In this way, they are able to find the most suitable talent for their needs. And, adding their job to iCasting is free of charge. Thanks to our algorithms, the iCasting platform is able to match various talents to the client and their assignment.

As iCasting, we validate every aspect of this process, to ensure both parties are legitimate.

The process after registering and completing the profile

When there is a match between a talent and a client, the talent is able to choose whether they would like to accept or decline the job. If accepted, the talents will be placed in a pre-selection, where the client can choose which of these talents are most suitable for the relevant job. What makes iCasting unique is that clients are able to only select talents who are available for jobs, on the iCasting platform. In traditional casting, the client can select a talent, however, without knowing if they are even available for the job.

After this process, talent and client are able to negotiate and make mutual agreements via chat-mode. Here, various details about the job can be discussed, such as the place, time, costs and other conditions. However, we would like to implement smart contracts based on our own blockchain.

Behind the scenes of a casting job

At a casting job, talent and client meet up and organize the setting. As mentioned before, there are twelve different groups on the iCasting platform meaning that there are various casting options and days.

What a talent does at an iCasting job differs widely every time, an example is given below.

Example: model, who is present for a halloween photoshoot.

Usually, on the day of the casting job itself, the client and talent first meet in the meeting room. The client offers the talent something to drink and they discuss what the day will look like and how things work on the set. After they have discussed these subjects, the talent gets called up to a certain room or place where they can get ready for the job. Here they can get their hair styled and make up fixed, this all depends on the relevant job. After they have changed into the required clothing and all the preparations are finished, the only thing they need to do is wait for the director to call them to the set.

Then, on set, everything gets settled, the cameras, product(s) and talent(s) all need to be placed in the right position. The director gives instructions on how the talent should pose or what they have to do, in order to get the pictures, videos or movies right. The talent has to use different face expressions or try the product of the client at that time, for example. Instructions of the director, photographer or client can be given during the entire shoot.

Talents who are called up for a job as a hair model, are able to get their hair cut, styled or dyed in various ways or put a wig on, depending on the job that they have accepted.

When the iCasting job has been successfully finished, the talent and client are able to finalize the job through the iCasting platform and the transaction can take place. During this process, client and talent are required to rate each other to make sure that the payment can take place. We ask the client for a talent fee, which we will forward to the talent after that day has finished. A small percentage (3%) of the talent fee and 10 euros per booking will be directed to our platform. This makes us unique because traditional casting agencies ask a higher percentage of talent fee and a higher amount of booking costs. By asking a talent fee, we can offer talents a certainty, which we will soon also offer them via our blockchain.
