Utilizing the blockchain with the Talent Token

Every day we get a few new jobs offered through iCasting and a few jobs completed by our talents. Thanks to our unique idea to match talents and clients directly to each other through our matching algorithm, we got to cut out the gatekeeping position of casting agents. That way our clients and talents are in control of their own choices and can come to their own agreements. They are the ones to decide which projects to apply to or what talents to pick for the job. Though there’s still some more work to be done.

To verify if new clients are up to par with our expectations we have to quality check each and every new offer. To ensure safety and security in payment transaction we are using an escrow account. This still gives iCasting a lot of responsibility in the casting process. And, while we have been steadily servicing the Dutch market, we want to bring our solution to the whole world. If we want to expand to different countries this will mean we have to set up escrow accounts in every single one of them and attain a larger team to check new jobs. In some instances that’s very difficult or even impossible to accomplish.

By using our own Talen Token with a Smart Contract we can solve these challenges. Through the Smart Contract we can provide a safe payment escrow, while at the same time storing the job agreements on the blockchain. For the verification process we can stimulate our community to do the screening of new jobs and talents. By providing incentives we ensure this will be done often and accurate. With this our community can also provide additional support for other members.

For identity verification we wil use a tier based KYC to know who our users are, however, this doesn’t prove their skills. That’s why we’re creating a rating system where everyone can build up their reputation. After a job has been completed both parties can rate each others skill specific level. This way users reputation can be linked directly to completed jobs. In the future third parties will be authorized for talent certification too.

The skill and identity verification system will be cross-platform. Any authorized entity can be the identity provider to the platform, just like iCasting. The users themselves, however, will be the ones in control over which third parties are allowed to access their information. The integrity of the data can be insured by checksums in the blockchain. In the same way iCasting can provide certifications for completing courses on the iCasting Academy. In the future this will also be available to authorized third parties.

The Talent Token will be integrated into the whole iCasting ecosystem. By completing jobs, helping in the screening process or providing support users can earn tokens. The tokens can be spent on multiple features to increase reputation and be more attractive for jobs or to place job assignments and pay talent fees. Brands and advertisers need our Tokens for promotions and advertisements. In this way we make sure that there is a constant demand for the Talent Tokens. By expanding to new markets and through marketing efforts the iCasting platform will see an influx of users and an additional need for the tokens. We will make sure that there will always be an easily accessible way to attain new tokens by integrating third party services on our platform. And that is how iCasting will become a global casting entity.
