The ICE Open Network has been generating a lot of excitement lately, but there's been one key setback—mainnet launch delays. Many have been eagerly anticipating the mainnet launch, but the team has not yet confirmed an exact date. While this delay might cause frustration for some, the activity on their public GitHub paints a different picture. Anyone questioning the commitment of the team just needs to take a look at the latest developments happening behind the scenes.

As of today, October 10th, ICE’s public GitHub repositories show significant updates, signaling that the team is still actively building and improving the network. Here’s a breakdown of some key repositories and their relevance to ICE’s overall goals:

1. Santa: Described as a project where ICE holders receive gifts based on their behaviour, this could hint towards ICE’s gamified reward system. The fact that it was updated just 45 minutes ago shows the team is actively fine-tuning this aspect of the ecosystem.

2. Subzero (Nostr Relay): Another crucial update was made to the subzero project, a Nostr relay coded in Go. This could enhance communication between decentralized nodes and improve the overall network reliability and speed. These kinds of decentralized communication tools are essential for a project like ICE, as they strengthen its autonomy and infrastructure.

3. ION App: This is an essential tool for the ICE ecosystem as it facilitates the user experience. Flutter app updates are a sign that user-facing applications are constantly improving, providing a seamless experience for ICE holders. This particular update signals work is being done to enhance accessibility and user interface.

4. Bridges (ION-EVM and TON-EVM):

The focus on building solid bridge infrastructure is clear with today’s work on both the ON-EVM Icecoin bridge and the TON-EVM Toncoin bridge. These are fundamental tools that allow for interoperability across different blockchains, ensuring ICE can operate in a multi-chain ecosystem. Being open-source under the GNU General Public License, these updates further build trust, allowing the community to examine and contribute to the progress.

5. CometBFT: This component, a Byzantine fault-tolerant state machine, is crucial for network security and ensuring the ICE blockchain can handle nodes going offline or experiencing issues without compromising the network. It also highlights how ICE is focusing on creating a robust foundation.

Why Selling Now is a Mistake

Anyone selling their ICE tokens because of the mainnet delay is, quite frankly, foolish. If you dig into the recent GitHub updates, it’s clear the team is still very active, continuing to work hard to deliver on their promises. The sheer transparency of having a public GitHub speaks volumes about their commitment to the community and the project's future.

It's important to note that blockchain projects often face delays, but what matters is the continued effort and progress, which can clearly be seen here. ICE is not a dead project; it's growing, evolving, and the team is working relentlessly to ensure the eventual mainnet launch is as smooth and secure as possible.

With that in mind, if you’ve lost faith or sold your tokens because of short-term delays, you’re likely missing out on the bigger picture.
