Rules

  1. We accept only good poetry. Sadly, my brain is the only available good-poetry detector I have access to, so we will all have to live with its limitations.
  2. We accept poetry of any length.
  3. We accept poetry of any form, including free verse, prose poetry, concrete poetry, etc.
  4. We accept poetry about any subject as long as it doesn’t promote violence or hatred.
  5. We accept poetry in any flavor of English you happen to speak, but only in English.
  6. We only accept poetry in draft form; do not publish prior to submitting.
  7. We only accept poetry accompanied by an image to which you have the rights and which is properly credited in the caption. Please put the image before the text.
  8. You are encouraged but not required to use both subtitle and kicker. “Poetry” is almost always the perfect kicker.
  9. You must use the tag “Poetry” on all submissions.
  10. Please wait 48 hours between submissions.
  11. We do not accept AI-generated writing. Not even if you tell us. Not even if you’re doing some clever thing with it. No.
