BLOCKS Academy public beta release
The past 18 months have been an amazing journey for the BLOCKS Academy team. From our initial project codenamed ‘Tronics University’ to our recently joing the ICEDIUM Group. We have never lost our focus and drive on delivering our vision.
BLOCKS Academy is a community-driven education portal for blockchain, digital assets and the underlying tech. The platform will allow all those looking to expand their learning to do so one block at a time.
This article will explain and discuss some key topics that community members have been curious about. We will discuss why we advanced our initial plans from ‘Tronics University’, why it took us so long to build this project, and how we have joined Icedium Group.
Code Name ‘Tronics University’ revealed
Our education portal codenamed ‘Tronics University’ has been revealed as the much anticipated ‘BLOCKS Academy’. We believe that for anything to be successful, it must be utilized by as many people interested in the space and those wanting to join the blockchain community. We wanted to open the area of education to cover the largest amount of blockchain and cryptocurrency topics. For that reason and in order to be a fair and unbiased educational platform we were not able to be associated directly with TRON, Ethereum, EOS, NEO or any other network. By also changing the name we are delivering a strong message about the platform. The platform has the ability to accommodate individual schools, allowing for more content specific areas such as a TRON school where TRONICS will be able to create courses and upload educational material — content about the TRON Network and its existing projects.
Correct terms and conditions
In order to be able to use term ”UNIVERSITY’’ in the project name, we must operate as an educational organisation, be accredited and accepted by the ‘Department for Education’. As the project is still in its infancy stage we decided to stop using the UNIVERSITY term in our name at all. So after taking advice from reputable bodies, we had to think of a new name. BLOCKS Academy was chosen giving the widest scope possible for all future plans we have for the platform.
Good things come to those who wait
BLOCKS Academy has been built by a team of community members and developers working around their day jobs and family life. The commitment of these people is nothing short of amazing given the great constraints placed on them by not having any funding. Each of them believes that for our industry to fulfil its potential we need to all have access to the best education content. For those willing to learn, this platform will give you the best opportunity to do so.
BLOCKS Academy has joined Icedium Group
ICEDIUM Group is a project bridging multiple blockchains into a singular ecosystem, allowing users the ability to seamlessly transfer value cross chain. The ICD token created by ICEDIUM will be utilized by BLOCKS Academy, giving its content creators and students the greatest value and utility.
BLOCKS Academy will be developed in multiple phases. For phase 1 the platform will be focused on onboarding as much content and courses as possible. To help accelerate this the ICEDIUM Group will distribute ICD for all approved content. Content creators must create an account on the platform and upload their educational material. Once the content has been reviewed and approved they will receive the preset amount of ICD to the wallet address they used during signup.
The ICEDIUM Group is building an ecosystem of blockchain projects.
BLOCKS Academy’s vision and ambitious goals align perfectly with the ecosystem being built, making them a perfect addition. The acquisition was made and the project will now integrate all the extended benefits of being part of the ICEDIUM Group
Public beta release details
On 29th of April 2019, the BLOCKS Academy public beta has been released for several reasons. They are community involvement, site exploreration and for becoming familiar with the platform.
From this date registered members are able to submit feedback, bugs reports, mistakes or errors directly to the BLCOCKS team.
