Did South Korean Parliament Changes Mandatory Military Service Due to BTS’ Sudden Hiatus? Fans of K-Pop, I Have Great News for You!

Did South Korean Parliament Changes Mandatory Military Service Due to BTS’ Sudden Hiatus? Fans of K-Pop, I Have Great News for You!

The international ARMYs were left devastated when they learned that BTS is going to take a break a few weeks ago. Out of all the theories put up as to why the septet made such an abrupt choice, it was asserted that “Jin’s military service” was the underlying cause of the break.

For the unaware, every man in Korea between the ages of 18 and 28 has to complete two years of compulsory military service. But now a fresh glimmer of optimism has illuminated us. To understand what we are discussing, keep reading.

A new legislation that would allow K-pop singers (across South Korea) to complete just three weeks of military training is reportedly being discussed in the South Korean Parliament. Yes, you did read that correctly. This follows the recent announcement of a break by BTS members RM, Jin, Suga, Jimin, Jungkook, V, and J-Hope, who cited weariness as the cause.

Sang-Hyun, a politician, however, stated in his interview with Reuters that BTS’ main reason for the break was that “waiting for parliament to decide has been enormously difficult” for them. The members said that they were tired and needed a break, but in reality, Jin’s military service was the true cause, he claimed.

What a revelation, I tell you. Is it real, though?

The septet members had previously indicated that they were taking a break after becoming exhausted in order to concentrate on their separate careers. BTS is not taking a break, the Korean boy band’s agency announced a few hours later. At this moment, members will concentrate more on solo projects.

Would you appreciate some relaxation of the military service requirements for K-pop stars from the Korean lawmakers?
