EOS ranked #1 by China, IRS expands its reach, Crypto mining slam dunk
EOS at #1 in China’s Latest Rankings
The second round of China’s state-backed monthly ratings of cryptocurrencies and blockchain projects has been released.
The so called “Global Public Chain Technology Evaluation Index,” ranks EOS 1st, Ethereum (ETH) 2nd, and Bitcoin(BTC) 17th, out of a total of 30 analyzed cryptocurrencies.
EOS’ received a top ranking due to the “outstanding technical advantages in transaction confirmation efficiency, network throughput, and transaction costs” of the protocol.
As seen in a Cointelegraph report earlier this month, China has promoted blockchain technology even as it pursues a cracks down on cryptocurrencies and Initial Coin Offerings (ICO).
The International Tax Man Cometh

The US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced on Monday that it has joined forces with tax authorities from Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, and the UK to fight tax crime and money laundering with cryptocurrency and other financial assets.
The Joint Chiefs of Global Tax Enforcement (known as the J5) will develop shared strategies to gather information and intelligence, conduct joint investigations and collaborate on effective communications.
Sacramento Kings to Mine Cryptocurrency
The tech-friendly Sacramento Kings are mining crypto with a full court press.
The NBA franchise is launching a charitable program called “MiningforGood” with MiningStore.com to mine cryptocurrency at the Kings’ home arena in Sacramento. The team will use MiningStore’s hardware to mine the Ethereum cryptocurrency.
The Kings have been early adopters of crypto as the first sports team to accept Bitcoin in 2014. They also sponsored a shark tank style contest in 2016 for tech startups, where finalists pitched ideas to win a cash prize and a lunch with the team owner.
