We are pleased to announce that we have received ten P-Rep candidate applications on icon.community as of March 22nd.
When applying, every team should submit a document introducing the team, server information, and a delegate proposal. As an ICONist, it is extremely important to understand each candidate’s long-term vision of the ICON Network by reading their proposals.
To celebrate the first ten candidates, we’ve decided to issue a two-post series presenting briefly yet accurately each and every one of them.

ICONation consists of ICONists from all around the world. ICONation members have expertise in computer security, software development, systems administration, business management, law, and community management. ICONation will provide quality network management, contribute to network growth, promote community-driven governance, and uphold security standards.
Main proposal
1)Block Production — ICON Network Management: Produce blocks, verify transactions and increase the stability of the ICON network in capacity and sustainability
2) Growing & Nurturing the ICON Network: Act as catalyst and contributor to the growth and utilization of the ICON network
3) Governance Decisions & Voting: Relay the voice of the ICON community when voting on governance considerations that will determine the course of the ICON ecosystem
4) Network Security and Protection: Uphold and adhere to standards that prevent abuse, attacks, fraud, collusion or criminal activity
Insight
By ICONists, For ICONists: ICONation is a community-star team led by Spl3en with passionate community influencers. The members of ICONation have been actively engaging in community discussions in official social channels as well as establishing the developer’s community of ICON. Also, the team released the first ICX desktop wallet, Svalinn(GitHub) on March 20th. Looking forward to seeing the next steps of ICONation, a truly-community-born public representative team!
SOMESING is an online karaoke platform dapp service provider. SOMESING makes it easy for anyone around the world to use blockchain in their daily life with SOMESING App. The SOMESING team has a better understanding of the meaning of ICONSENSUS, a journey towards popularizing blockchain technology.
Main proposal
1) Maintaining stability of ICON Network
- Contribute to maintaining network through block generation and verification, and to maintain network security and data governance.
- Build a server infrastructure for each of the global major sites and ensure that ICON Network can achieve stable service.
2) Proving the scalability of ICON Network: Demonstrate the scalability of the ICON network by increasing the number of ICX wallet users and the number of SSX token users.
3) Problem-solving education and building blended learning process
- Provide differentiated education to nurture professional manpower through video and voice related technology
- Build a blended learning process that can link case based education and ON / OFF line education for problem solving
- Visualize or podcast the training contents for Knowledge Transfer
Insight
SOMESING is one of the most self-evolving DApp team with great potential. Their own user base and strong in-house developer team with experience made them a promising public representative candidate. Their ambition to expand entertainment service will be a drive for the expansion of ICON Ecosystem.
weBloc is a tokenized advertising platform shifting the center of the traditional advertising ecosystem from advertisers to users. The goal of weBloc is to provide fair compensation by clarifying what each player contributes within the advertising ecosystem. weBloc would develop services based on our principles, ‘Participation’, ‘Reward’, and ‘Expansion’ and contribute to the expansion of ICON’s ecosystem.
Main proposal
1) Community Building
Utilize various channels to communicate with communities and attract users into the ICON ecosystem to revitalize.
2) Block Generation and Verification
Build server infrastructure for each of the global major sites and ensure that ICON Network can provide stable services.
3) The Scalability of ICON Network
- Attract a variety of DApps in our ecosystem that can play a role as media and/or publisher by developing more services and forming the alliance.
- Play a business and marketing development role establishing a business structure called “advertising/marketing monetization” for DApps.
- To link WEB, mobile Apps and DApps
- To use the IRC-2 tokens will be applicable.
- Lead to the fiat money in the real world to flow into the weBloc’s ecosystem and create a virtuous cycle with tokens.
Insight
weBloc is a well-known DApp project in ICON Network. It has expertise in the advertisement, community, and marketing. Their strong tie with Korean ICX holders, WeBloc will be a prominent candidate to lead Korean ICON community.
Common Computer is a blockchain company building AI Network. Common Computer has experienced in Machine Learning and distributed computing. It will contribute to the ICON community and brings ICON network to the next intelligence.
Main proposal
1) Block Production: Manage block production with fault tolerance based on technical expertise in managing distributed cloud
2) AI Block Analysis: Have the capacity to process and analyze a large number of transactions from the blockchain, and provide useful information that can benefit both block producers and developers.
3) Governance Decisions:
- Provide technical perspective for decision and additional analysis data to help to make a reasonable decision
- Encourage involvement from developers and open source communities.
- Provide necessary technical advice or education to make sure new knowledge and findings are shared within the ICON community.
- AI marketplace: Provide additional features on top of ICON smart contract. DApp developers will be able to use various AI components reliably and cost-efficiently.
Insight
Common Computers has in-depth understanding in the core of blockchain. Outstanding developer team are ex-googlers with strong interests in blockchain and AI technology. Common Computers team will contirbute to develop interchain and connect their main net project with ICON Network.
ICONNECT is a global team based in Africa and seeks to advance the adoption of blockchain technology. ICONNECT believes that digital ledger technologies (DLTs) and Digital Assets can create digital bridges that enable trade and commerce around the world.
Main proposal
1) Offer robust infrastructure and experience in block production and verification.
2) Bring experience in building DApps with blockchain software developers.
3) Offer consulting and advisory services to international organizations which seek to create standards for interoperability.
4) Participate actively in nurturing the interchain communication between ICON and the other blockchain networks ICONNECT has experience in.
Insight
ICONNECT is a P-Rep candidate who can represent ICON in Africa. The members of ICONNECT are experienced blockchain experts and entrepreneurs. They will take a pivotal role in expanding ICON community and spread the philosophy of ICON Project in Africa.
