Fish Out of Water Assignment

I’m going snowboarding for the first time soon so I was going to write about my experience doing that. The culture that surrounds skiing and snowboarding in Colorado is kind of intimidating but I’ve also heard the phrase “Shred that gnar” spoken unironically so how intense can it be? Coming from Oklahoma, one of the flattest states, this is going to be a very new and very different experience for me. I think writing about the experience, the people, and the rituals around skiing and snowboarding from my new perspective could be fun.
