Insights

57% of people would love to watch more movies/series, and the dominant reason for they can’t watch more is lack of time, by study, work, family, relationship, social needs, etc. People also mentioned that it’s hard to make decision which movie/series to watch.

And one person say,

“We tend to put the TV on and just watch what’s on rather than specifically watching a series or movie. Just lazy really.”

A very interesting answer other than yes and no from “Do you wish to watch more movies/series?” is:

“Yes, but I’d also like to not. Just because its so time consuming.”

What people get from movies/series are:

Social needs: Enjoying the time with family/discussing with others/being in a trend.

The production itself: good story/character developments/content/plot twists.

Emotional excitement: Entertainment/Relaxation/Escapism/Switch off/Take me to a different world.

Filling the blank: Nothing to do/have something to do/easy to do.

Learning: Learning new things/Rewarding experience can be relate to others/gaining experience from others’ life.

When a clip or a line of movies/series flash in people’s mind but they can’t remember the exactly lines/scenes, they mostly search it online(Google/IMDB etc.) or ask friends.

I made a mistake in last question, I was going to ask “If you can talk to/be friends with them, what would you like to do?”, somehow I asked “What made you want to talk to/be friends with them?”. But I still have some useful feedback from that.

Some people simply say it will be cool/fun/interesting, some people are interested in the characters’ personalities and would love to have their company/hang out with them, some people want to explore the story deeper and some people relate the characters to their own life. To sum up, people want to share their opinions with the characters as well as want suggestions for their own life from the characters.

“I could relate more to them than people in my life.”

“It sounds awesome to see and talk with the character. Im not sure.”

No reason, it is just appealling to people to interact with characters.
