The Noble Mission of Lynn Margherio and Cradles to Crayons

According to the UNICEF Report Levels & Trends in Child Mortality ( 2014 ), every day 17,000 children die before their fifth birthday. In 2013 the under-five mortality rate in low-income countries was 76 deaths per 1,000 live births.

Reducing these inequities across countries and saving more children’s lives by ending preventable child deaths are important priorities.

I would like to share with you that TEDxBeaconStreet will have a great speaker this year who is building a great movement to help and reduce this issue in children with low-income in United States, in cities such Boston, Chicago and Philadelphia. Lynn Margherio is the Founder of Cradles to Crayons, a non profit organization that has a goal to provide help to children from birth through age 12 who are living in homeless or low-income situations.

Nowadays, Cradles to Crayons, with the leadership of Lynn Margherio, has achieved very good things to help the child population during its 15 years of operations.

This proves to us the commitment of how a dream or an idea leads to reality, and how taking action leads to a better and fair world.

Children are the future of nations and their societies. For that reason, children should have the basic things that all human beings need, including:
