Your Media Rape Culture Syllabus
It’s hard to explain to people exactly what Rape Culture is, let alone how it is perpetuated in media and entertainment. These conversations are difficult to have as it is, without adding an additional cultural element. These books, films, and videos are a good primer for the less woke family member or friend, or just recommended reading and viewing for the life-long learner. So of course, I would rather you start with my talk. So here you go if you haven’t seen it already:
The following are books, articles, videos, etc that I watched during the research and writing phase of my talk. With a few gems added that I read or watched recently.
For an AMAZING playlist of TED Talks, some of my favorite feminist YouTubers, and some gems from Last Week Tonight, Full Frontal and The Daily Show, check my playlist here. And for the one really good Daily Show Video that wasn’t on YouTube, click here.
