I’ve had my share of creating emails since 1999. Yeah. Some of this article’s readers weren’t even born yet.

I believe that email was something that people needed right when the Internet communication became the major alternative to the actual classic mail.

Things were changing, moving fast and the Internet brought up the instrument of communicating faster and more efficient, either personal or business related.

I’ve read different articles on this very subject and here is what I have learned from all of them:

  1. Email is a must because is the best way to communicate online with someone, in a structured matter. This is something that will always have an important impact on a business strategy. Basically emails make any company be more organised.
  2. An email can be used for more than just as an email. In this case I also had in mind the email marketing strategy. Either it’s a promotional email, a product information, or the latest business news, the email will always communicate more that just one information.
  3. You can use it as a storage service. Every time you send or receive and email with attachment/s you don’t need to worry about saving that material. Basically the email server will store whatever you need to send or receive in the future.
  4. Trust, is the best way to build personal or business relationships.
Email is more trustable that any simple message on social media or SMS. Simply because you can see the actual sender (beyond the spamming techniques) and you can check it before opening up the attachments.
  5. Official record. Email is considered an official record because the authorities (Government, IRS) can use it as proof of information related to all business transactions.
  6. Account’s identity check. While creating online accounts, usually the best way to verify the account is by sending an actual check link to the email address that was used for creating that account. There are also other methods, but this approach will probably be used for many years to come. Also related to online accounts: any newsletter, notifications or policy changes are sent via email. So that is something that will probably still happening in the future.
  7. Use it on any device. Whether it’s a laptop, a tablet or a smartphone, the email has become a daily routine, so it’s a normal thing to be able to access it from any device, on any part of the globe.

I still believe that email will rock, so does the person who invented it. Here’s an article about his opinion:
