Milestone Unlocked: Tactiles reached crowdfunding target!
Two months ago, one of our startups, Tactiles, launched a crowdfunding campaign which I thought was pretty ambitious. Tactiles produces a modular learning platform that makes electronics education friendlier and more effective. The team wanted to raise $50KUSD to partially fund the manufacture of their first product, iQube. Even more ambitious was their goal to reach half their target on the second day. We were worried when they did not reach the $25K goal on the second day because only 45% of crowdfunding campaigns are successful. But founder Joshua Dela Llana and his team worked very hard. IdeaSpace also worked quite hard to support them on this campaign.
I am proud to say that 1 day before the close of the campaign, iQube reached its goal! 219 backers from all over the world have supported iQube. The most active countries are USA and Australia. Most of the clients are parents or grandparents who want to give this as a gift to their child or to their grandchildren.
On behalf of the IdeaSpace team and of Tactiles, I would like to thank all of you who supported us on this campaign. USD 50,000 may not sound much for some of you, but for a startup, this is major. This is a milestone not only for Tactiles but for IdeaSpace as well. Again, thank you for believing in what IdeaSpace Foundation does.
