A Developer’s Dilemma: How much does a website cost?

Websites are not a bunch of pages put together.

They are like a movie,

You might forget the real world.

A lot goes into building a website. It is more artistic than what the commerce chooses to believe. It is an art piece that devours passionate art, intelligent vision and flawless coding. Hence, every website we make has been a special experience for each and every one of us at the Den. It’s like a tech Nirvana and these are things only our race of artists, coders and developers will relate to, for the rest, it’s still pure commerce and with time, we realize it too.

The first thing we get asked at Jetbro, after explaining our clients, how a website will set a virtual presence for them and their company is, “So, how much does it cost?” We wish we could put a set price on how creative our layout looked, how beautiful the wireframes were or how intelligently our developers work to set the right codes to ensemble a website that showcases the best acumen for our clients. But honestly, no amount of discussions and logical know-how at the Den, could break down this eternal question and here’s why.

It’s like building a house: Think about this for a minute. You call up an architect and ask him how much a house would cost? With no specifications on how many rooms you want? Or a garden maybe a store room or a library even. The quote relies on the details, much like how it is for websites. With every interaction built and every functionality set, the value of a website soars.

Quotes are Subjective: You can get your website built in more ways than one and there are every kind of developers and design teams in the market that could possibly get it done for you in the cheapest price imaginable and some others who may develop the same at a higher price. The key here is to identify a team creative enough to identify your requirements and which does not settle for minimalistic efforts.

You can’t put a price on Art: Forgive us for the cliché but websites truly are an embodiment of digital artistry by a school of developers, designers, writers and other creatives. You can’t really put a price on how creatively they deliver. While one piece of web art finds cheaper to one particular client, the same would seem “over-priced” for yet another client, so on and so forth

It’s a not a product, it’s a service: Several clients approach us just to build a website for them, with sometimes very little idea onto what goes into it. Hence, we make it our responsibility that our clients understand the kind of benefits they may reap on a web platform and on several occasions we even lend out our marketing intellect and commercial approach to make sure they take the right business decisions. These ofcourse aren’t the kind of services an agency signs up for, while developing a website, but these extensions are a sign of how professionally dedicated and involved a team is, to a client’s cause or project and wisdom like these rightfully outprice those quoted by several others in the market.

To sum it all up, here’s what we believe and am sure our race of passionate creatives will agree. Website is pure intelligent artistry of a digital arena. Like every piece of art that weighs differently for different individuals, same is the case with website. What’s “sold out cheap” for one, might be the “overpriced” for yet another but what’s important is how beautifully they grace your being and in this case your commerce.

Still puzzled over how to get your website done? How about you meet us for a Coffee at the Den?

About how much do we cost? Well, we don’t go cheap or believe in charging guilty figures. We are cost-effective and once you team up with the Den, we’ll make sure it all goes well for you and your business; because we go way beyond the conventional “IT services” tag to ensure that our commitment serves you well, always.
