This short story is what you need to not do!

She was confident, she could complete the marathon and win it. Un-prepared she woke up at 5 am and got ready. By 6 am, amidst 100 participants she heard the gun-shot and the competition had begun.

25km-in, she was at 98th position still confident to win the contest!

Alas, a stone on the road tripped her off and she fell down on her shoulder which broke and it looked painful. Emergency team came to her rescue within seconds and she woke up on a hospital bed.

I visited her and asked her with, what I would call, some sort of agitation: “Why did you not win?”

But she knew me well, she was expecting these questions and hence with an equal intensity she replied “You know I tripped, injured my shoulder, and I cannot even express the pain I am feeling!”

All I said was “But you did not finish the race!”

The rest is history- but here’s some Monday Mantra one learns from this story!

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
You may fall, and be in lot of pain
The fact remains, you did not win the race
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
You may forget that you had to participate
The fact remains, you did not win the race
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
You may say others were better
The fact remains, you did not win the race
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
You may say I came second
The fact remains, you did not win the race

We all have reasons for not getting it done, it might be a valid one too.
But in the end “It’s an excuse!”
