How do you think you’ll do in a negotiation against a computer? Try it out here — https://goo.gl/1FCG1d

The goal of this negotiation is to distribute a set of hats, balls and books between yourself and your computer counterpart. Both of you have different point values for the items.

The original algorithm was developed by Facebook using data from live people (from Mechanical Turk) who negotiated via text chat. We have enhanced it and created an exercise that continuously improves every-time you play — so please forward this blog post or the game link to your colleagues and students — more data will lead to enhanced machine learning — the new world of AI in negotiation learning, teaching and research!

We also have chatbots for digital markets exercises (2-sided markets, network effects) and will introduce them for economics soon. Across the next year, we plan on creating more automated exercises to allow your students to practice and understand distributive, integrative and compatible issues in negotiation.

It would be great to hear your thoughts on how we can innovate further and what kind of research you’d like to conduct on our platform. We support text, voice, video recording and automated pairing of crowdsourced participants!
