Today we had the pleasure of speaking to Anthony Nyberg, a professor at the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business. Prof. Nyberg is also the academic director for the Masters of Human Resources Program and has been using iDecisionGames for four years.

Apart from negotiation simulations, he uses iDecisionGames to run a very interesting HR exercise to “incorporate real, 360 degree feedback on essential competences”. Prof. Nyberg pointed out that it “allows students and faculty to rate students across these competencies and then allows students to view areas that they need to work on. Further, this platform allows faculty and students to track their progress, relative to others and themselves, in class and over time.”

In addition, we asked prof. Nyberg how self-assessment in real-time with ready-available results enhances the learning process. He pointed out that “research is very clear that a critical component to developing expertise is real-time, meaningful feedback”. iDecisionGames does exactly this and thus as such enhances the learning process and in, prof. Nyberg’s words, “maximizes students’ learning potential.”

To hear more from prof. Nyberg about how the application of knowledge garnered in class to real-world situations using iDecisionGames helps students attain knowledge and essentially makes them more employable, please follow this link: https://youtu.be/ASaOINfAZvk
