Better UX for Cryptocurrency with the Zcash Foundation

At IDEO CoLab, we believe that cryptocurrency and blockchains are among the most transformational technologies of our time. Yet despite this year’s massive run-up in price of many cryptocurrencies and the popularization of Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), they still are far from seeing mainstream adoption. Luckily, there is a lot we can do to fix that.

One of the main barriers to more mainstream adoption is the current user experience associated with learning about, acquiring, and using cryptocurrencies. It’s awful, unfriendly, and often utterly confusing. At this stage in the growth cycle, even seemingly small improvements to the usability of cryptocurrencies and related tools can greatly accelerate the ecosystem, helping to bring the technology to more people and more real-life use cases.

IDEO CoLab is proud to announce that we’re partnering with the Zcash Foundation to support to any UX-focused projects in the first round of the Zcash Foundation Grant Program. The Zcash Foundation will be awarding $80,000 in grant funding for proposals to develop “community infrastructure,” namely services and infrastructure to support the Zcash ecosystem. IDEO CoLab will support winning UX-focused projects by providing support, guidance, and the opportunity to spend time with our team in either SF or Boston.

Proposals need to be submitted by September 15th, so get to it!
