Muslim’s connection with Jerusalem
Jerusalem is a city located in modern-day Israel and is considered by many to be one of the holiest places in the world. It is one of the oldest and hold major significance for Muslims, Jews and Christians. Both Israel and Palestine claimed it as their capital city. But after 1948 Arab-Israel war, Jerusalem is divided into east and west divisions. It has its ancestral roots for all three Abrahamic religions. Muslims consider it as a city of their first Qibla, or direction to which Muslims pray (today, Muslims bow towards Makkah).
