Isaiah Firebrace, the Moama resident and also the quite good singer, has won The X Factor Australia.

His win has been officially endorsed by last year’s champion, Cyrus, and the group who deserved to be second or first alongside Cyrus but mystifyingly weren’t, Jess & Matt.

Isaiah Firebrace beat du-rag aficionado Davey Woder, plain Sakata rice cracker Vlado, and technically excellent schoolgirl Amalia.

Mentor Adam Lambert is said to be excited.

Isaiah is expected to have an EP of his X Factor highlights out in time for Christmas. They’ve all been recorded professionally already, as you’d be aware if you’ve been keeping up on Spotify. Of course they could just as easily leave them all there and save them having to release it as an EP. We’ll see.

His debut single is called It’s Gotta Be You. It’s a fairly good mid-tempo ballad written by DNA Songs. It’s on Spotify and iTunes.
