Let It Go • Stooshe

The video clip is in southern Italy just so it’s clear it’s got nothing to do with that Disney film

Stooshe (y’know, like, “stoo-she”) had a minor, minor hit in Australia with Love Me a few years ago because Travie McCoy was on it, and then they pretty much disappeared without a trace. They were apparently still producing music back in the UK, but none of it made an impact in Australia.

They were certainly more quirky than annoying, but they were sitting pretty close to the line.

I feel like, if we went back to the days of two to three year album cycles, we’d have a year and a half of Little Mix and then a year and a half of Stooshe while we wait for a new Little Mix album. (Stooshe would, of course, be the Time Masters to Little Mix’s A*mazing.)

Anyway, they’ve grown up, split from their label, and they’ve got a new song out. It’s called Let It Go, which is a song title which has received a few Googles in the past couple of years.

They’ve really matured their sound since splitting with their old label. Let It Go has got that drum and bass sound which has made a comeback in the past couple years thanks to the success of Sigma and Rudimental. It’s got the huge sounding chorus you’d expect, and it doesn’t feel like a song you’re going to be sick of after a few listens.

Basically, if this is a comeback, welcome the hell back.

The video clip includes a tiny bit of a generic Apple SFX at the start (the same one used at the start of D.A.N.C.E. by Justice) but it’s not in the actual song, so no harm no foul.

They filmed the video in Italy, in the bit that looks like the heel of the boot.
