2019 Mission Billion challenge by the World Bank Group

The World Bank Group’s Identification for Development (ID4D) initiative announced the launch of the Mission Billion Challenge to make the ‘invisible billion’ — the number of people who still cannot prove who they are –, visible in 2018. Over 170 solutions were submitted from 54 countries from academics, entrepreneurs, scientists, and technologists. Six finalists were selected to pitch their solutions live to a packed audience and a panel of expert judges at World Bank Headquarters.
