Launching “StayAhead”: Hotel Guest Experience Management Platform

Many of the eyebrow-raising scenes that we have seen in older James Bond movies have become a reality nowadays. Technology has been put on steroids in the last five years to add significant value to our lives.

This applies to travel industry too, especially the hospitality industry.

Guests are expecting to manage their end to end stay with technology, they would like their mobile phone to do everything for them.

A guest opens his/her mobile phone to make hotel reservation for a same day check-in. Gets into the car and speaks (via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay) to the car to show driving direction to the hotel. While the guest is taking a break at a highway restaurant, the guest check-ins to the hotel room and sends an instant message to the hotel requesting to keep some Darjeeling Tea sachet in the room.

The guest arrives at the hotel and he is delighted to see his favourite Darjeeling Tea sachet already placed in the room. He picks up his mobile phone and raises a request for two hard pillows. Pillows are delivered in a jiffy by a housekeeping member. The delighted guest picks up the phone and gives an excellent feedback for the housekeeping service. The housekeeping department head is notified about this feedback.

All above scenarios were theoretical and aspirational till now.

But, things have changed. From today.

All scenarios above and many more guest experience improving usecases can be executed by a single mobile app called “StayAhead”.

StayAhead, a mobile app available on both Android and iOS platform, can be used by the guest to manage end to end hotel stay.

Once a hotel booking is done, StayAhead app automatically shows the booking to the guest to start managing the stay.

The magic spin is — irrespective of the guest’s source of booking — be it any OTA, offline travel agent booking, corporate booking, brand.com or even a walkin — the booking automatically shows up in guest’s StayAhead app.

Using StayAhead, guests will be able to:

  1. Browse list of available rooms, filter by floor and feature, and pre-checkin to a preferred room of choice
  2. Create a one-time digital profile by uploading identity documents that would be needed at the time of check-in
  3. Chat with the hotel anytime anywhere
  4. Raise service requests and track it for closure — want a cup of tea or an extra bed or late checkout? It’s just a button click away.
  5. Give feedback to the hotel — great room service? or a leaking bathroom tap? Let the hotel know instantly.
  6. View outstanding bill at any time during the stay

Because of StayAhead app’s deeper integration with IDS’ PMS, all of these guest improving usecases are frictionless and possible.

We are opening up StayAhead to hotels on a phased manner. Currently, about 20 hotels are onboarded in StayAhead (you can check the list of hotels under “StayAhead Hotels” menu in the app).

Guests will be able to manage their end to end stay when they make a reservation for any of the above mentioned 20 hotels.

We are onboarding new hotels to StayAhead every week.

Using StayAhead, guest saves significant time, experiences a great stay, and manages all of his/her hotel bookings in a single app.

For a hotel, StayAhead is a platform to improve guest experience. It is a platform to get to know guests better, get closer to your guests and serve them better.

We will be rolling out many new value adding usecases/features to both guests and hotels.
