IEEE APSIT x PACKT: A WIN-WIN PARTNERSHIP
IEEE APSIT will be conducting ApScript — a 48 hour hackathon that covers four tracks namely: Blockchain, App Development, Web Development and Machine Learning. This contest will be held for two days, on 6th and 7th of February, and each track will have 3 rounds each. There are special prizes for the winners and goodies for the participants. With ambassadors from all around the globe and our own volunteers putting in hard work, we are confident of giving you a unique experience. Packt is a developer education firm helping the world to put software to work. It was founded in 2004 in Birmingham. They are the leading IT content providers of UK and are also serving the globe. Packt is steadily working towards their vision : enabling technology for everyone.They have published 6500 books and videos so far, for professionals and beginners with the knowledge they need to get their work done.They have books and videos on wide range of topics from learning a new technology to advancing your knowledege in more established tools.They have also awarded over $1M through their open source project royalty scheme, helping a great many projects to become household names and also taking a small step to reach their vision.
Hackathons can provide benefits to us in many ways. Apart from bringing a whole new level of excitement into our daily routines, they are a good way of stimulating the creative and problem solving juices of one’s mind. The time limit in hackathons forces the participants to draw actionable plans from their ideas. Also, the diversity of participants presents a multitude of fresh perspectives and solutions to the problems. As our partner, Packt will be providing e-books as well as printed books for prizes to the winners.
