What is Azure?

Azure, is Microsoft’s cloud computing platform with solutions including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) that can be used for services such as analytics, virtual computing, storage, networking, and much more. This tutorial will take through activating Azure for Student account.

Goals:

· What can i do with Azure for Student account ?

· Activate Azure for Students

Prerequisites:

· Microsoft email like Outlook or Hotmail;

· College or University student email address (In our case um5 email)

What can I do with Azure for Student account?

• Azure for student account is loaded with $ 100 credit for 12 months.

• You can have some advanced AI/ML tools, services such as analytics, virtual computing, storage, networking, the latest versions of VS Code, Windows Sever & SQL Server…

• You can participate in some competitions based on Azure like:

Activate Azure for Student

1 . First step:

Go to https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/free/students/ :

Then click Active now.

2. Sign in with your Outlook or Hotmail account

3. After verifying you identity by phone, provide your University/College student email address (In our case xyz@um5s.net.ma):

4. Check your school email address to complete activation:

5. You will find an email of verification:

6. To complete the academic status verification, please click the link provided in your email.

7. After clicking the link, your verification status will be confirmed and you will return to the site: Sign in!

8. Under About you, provide your details and make sure on the email text box you provide your University/College student email address and tick agree checkbox under Agreement

9. After submit the registering, the Azure window will open.
