The three best realms that technology has offered us, are Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) and, Mixed Reality (MR). When they come under an umbrella together, it creates a hyper-realistic situation. Such technology seeks a contribution in the field of innovations.

The driving force that shapes almost every aspect of our future is technology. To all the geeks out there amused by the fancy equipment used in science fiction movies, imagine being present in such an environment but virtually, convincing yourself that the illustrations are real. Fascinating, isn’t it? Fulfilling the above requirements, there emerges XR expanding to Extended Reality, ready to offer a real-time simulation environment.

Exploring the three pillars of this concept, Virtual Reality, a 360-degrees view of the artificial world fooling us into believing we are flying on a carpet or riding a roller coaster with just a headset?! It seems so beguiling. Augmented Reality renders digital images on real-world objects. The most common example of AR is Snapchat. We all are in love with those filters. Mixed Reality is the co-existence of real-world objects and digital objects in real-time. Microsoft has HoloLens commercially available as a result of MR.

XR is in the early phases of development, already counting its explosive growth. Studies show that 36% of CEOs are willing to adopt this notion considering the distance barrier it eliminates. The corporate world involves interaction with the public. XR allows geographically distributed operations to be addressed with the remoteness it can provide.

60% of college students prefer a practical approach to learn over a theoretical one. XR can be a useful tool in enhancing learning methodologies owing to its ability in yielding experiences digitally for gaining deeper understandings.

The one’s who require training in high-risk conditions such as military or practitioners should scrutinize this idea and further implement.

Since human eyes are used to traditional learning, it is likely to get bored of certain things. The birth of XR has allowed building imagination and intelligence. Coming to the social aspect, it connects people to share experiences, exchange thoughts no matter where they are on the planet. It also provides the best storytelling techniques. Experts say that entrance of extended reality in our lives may lead to the replacement of smartphones. Immersive experience as an environment-based user requirement bestows solutions to multiple problems existing or forthcoming. Merging physical and virtual worlds, you might be able to shop from a furniture store while sitting at home.
