What makes your day better? A meme.

What makes you relieve from stress? A meme.

What is relatable more than anything? Of course, a meme.

The stigma around mental health and stability has shifted from locking people in insane asylums to sharing exaggerated memes with friends. For teenagers, memes act as a way to connect with peers over a shared sense of humour. Memes are a tool to express a common internet culture psyche and open about mental health. Memes are a haven for people to voice their most personal psychological problems. Many have joined social media meme pages for seeking an outlet for their feelings. The potent combination of relatability and self-deprecation has normalized depression and suicide, positively making people feel like it’s not a big issue and ultimately have less impact on life.

Patients who can laugh about their condition cope better. Humour injected group therapy sessions let the patients analyze and understand their problems. Being able to talk about mental illness on social media provides a needed emotional catharsis.

Seeing memes with numerous people commenting and tagging other friends reminds you that you aren’t the only one dealing with existential ennui or depression.

Memes have certainly become a part of our life and are the only thing that has kept us alive in these traumatic times. Thanks to memes, our days are much better than they are likely to be. Memes are a true stress buster!

So, IEEE-WIE, VIT brings to you Meme-o-Mania. Let’s laugh out more and spring out our memer brains. Put on our creative caps and make some wholesome memes with our event Meme-O-Mania. The cash prize is worth fighting for!!
