What do Pogba’s “future talks” actually say about his future?

Could Pogba leave The Red Devils in January?

After Mino Raiola’s bombshell “it’s over” comment about a month ago before Manchester United’s doomed match against RB Leipzig in the Champions League, the French international has been in excellent form and was instrumental in their win against Aston Villa, which secured them the second spot in the Premier League, level on points with Liverpool.

In the month of October, rumors lingered on about Pogba making an exit, but United managed to tie down the Frenchman to the club till 2022 by triggering a one-year extension clause in his contract. But in face of recent events involving Pogba being unhappy along with his agent Mino Raiola linking him with a return to Juventus, it was time the club tried to recoup some of the £89 million that they paid for him.

Also news from various media sources state that a potential swap deal involving either Paolo Dybala or Cristiano Ronaldo could also be on the cards as United prepare for the departure of their star midfielder. Even though Juventus looks the most likely destination for the Frenchman considering Raiola’s recent comments, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly also shown interest in the World Cup winner.

Solskjaer has acknowledged Pogba’s efforts in recent games and states that his urge to win trophies has never been a question. But despite his impressive performances, it appears to be clear that the club and the player will part ways at the end of the season. With Bruno Fernandes now taking charge of United’s midfield, Solskjaer might very well be planning to bring in some new talents to provide cover for the Portuguese with the transfer fee they receive for Pogba. But the class Paul has cannot be brought by any other player or even manager. It is neither difficult nor that easy to replace the Frenchman after what he has done for the club and kind of talent and skills he has. According to ESPN, Italian champions Juventus are keen to bring Pogba back to Turin, where he won four Serie A titles between 2012 and 2016. Pogba’s United contract is set to expire in 2022 after the English club activated a one-year extension option, but Juventus hope to sign him at the end of this season. However, the Italians don’t have the financial firepower to meet the Red Devils’ demands on a transfer fee and will look to strike an agreement through a swap deal.

It’s best that Pogba leaves because of the issues he’s facing with his form and consistency. Also it gives other players a chance to shine and showcase their talent at the club. With him on the bench there is some depth in the squad but at the same time United would prefer that they also get depth in other positions by getting some more experienced players. With the likes of Portugal’s specialist Bruno Fernandes, Ajax’s youngster Van De Beek, academy star McTominay, Serbian Matic, experienced Juan Mata and Fred who’re all performing well there is no more depth required in the midfield. Pogba is a player who needs more attacking freedom and he can really do well when it comes to creating chances and long range shots and making interceptions too. The Frenchman has done so much for the club and country that it is obviously difficult to let such a great talent let go away from the club.

Being a loyal and die-hard fan I just hope for the best for this club and hope to see Manchester United winning titles and lifting up trophies real soon. Of course, frustration is vented when things do not go according to as planned and social media being the biggest and perfect platform for this. Rumours do affect the players and fans but always wait for them to get confirmed.
