Quantum computing

Have you ever dreamed of being an Iron Man yourself? Sounds crazy right? But if it comes true, won’t that be an amazing trail to all the insane ideas? Guess what, these are not just fantasies anymore….!

“Quantum computing is like having a superpower. It’s the ability to solve problems that are impossible for classical computers.”
-Andrew Ng, Co-founder of Coursera
Quantum computing is a fast-developing technology that applies the principles of quantum theory in the field of computers. A computer developed through quantum technology can provide solutions that are too complex for classical computers. Quantum computing is based on two major properties - superposition and entanglement.
As in quantum mechanics, a quantum computer can also exhibit superposition which means that a quantum particle can be in multiple states at the same time. Quantum computers use qubits which can be 0, 1 or both at the same time whereas classical computers use bits that can be either 0 or 1. The other effect is entanglement. It’s a long-distance relationship i.e., two or more quantum particles remain connected even when they are separated by large distances. With these properties, quantum computers are ready to take over the computing world!
But how can they make a great impact on the computing world? Quantum computers can provide complex solutions much faster than classical computers in the field of:
• Drug Discovery
-helps scientists to design new drugs that work more effectively which could revolutionize the medical field (e.g., discover cancer cells much faster).
• Materials science
-helps to design new materials with enhanced quality, which could be used to develop stronger and lighter materials for technological purposes.
• Artificial Intelligence
-can be used to train AI models on much larger databases which makes the AI more efficient and advanced.
And many more………
Quantum computing is a rapidly emerging field and it’s still in progress. We don’t know how the computing world would evolve with these computers taking over. Let’s hope for the best. But for sure, the future is not what you can expect. It’s going to be something beyond imagination….!
